International Tiger Day 2021
The tiger is our national animal. The scientific name of the tiger is Panthera tigris. Global Tiger Day or International Tiger Day is celebrated every year on 29th July. The day was founded in 2010, so that people around the world can raise awareness for tiger conservation.
There are a number of different issues that tigers face all around the world. It is our responsibility to save this incredible creature from any type of threats like poaching, conflict with humans, habitat loss etc.
Tiger Day aims to protect and expand their habitats and raise awareness of the need for conservation.
The tiger population is declining alarmingly in the Bangladesh part of the Sundarbans, a world heritage site.
This year, the theme of the day in Bangladesh is “Tiger will save Sundarbans, Sundarbans will save millions of lives”.
